Lori Beazer
Lori Beazer is the founder of the Afro Caribbean Farmers’ Market, Canada’s first culturally specific farmers market in Toronto’s Little Jamaica neighbourhood. Lori is also the co-producer of the Afro Indigenous Food Security Festival, and expands her brand with the food festival Toronto Patty Fest. With a professional background in public relations, Lori has just finished her first film, titled The Ascension of Black Food Sovereignty. While experiencing the filmmaking process, Lori found a need to provide another platform for black filmmakers and subsequently started the Toronto Pan Afrikan Film Festival, another Little Jamaica event during the month of Emancipation. Currently working in food security community advocacy, Lori creates cultural resource sharing platforms while strengthening African diasporic health.
